Friday, November 11 (Concert 7p; Marathon 9p-5a)
The music department will hold its sixth Music Marathon Friday 11/11/16 at Stevenson High School. The evening will begin at 7 p.m. with our FALL CONCERT. ALL band and orchestra members are expected to perform in the concert. Concert Band and Symphony Band members need to arrive by 6:30p, Orchestra 6:45p, and Wind Ensemble 7p. Dress for this concert is casual. Musicians participating in the music marathon should wear their marathon t-shirt and jeans. Individuals not participating in the marathon after the concert should wear Stevenson apparel/colors and jeans. The concert is a public event. We hope family and friends will come out to hear some great music!
For the MUSIC MARATHON musicians are expected to wear the Stevenson Music Marathon t-shirt to the event as well as jeans, socks and shoes for the entire 12 hours in the building. No pajamas, bare feet, flip-flops, or shorts will be permitted. (T-shirts will be distributed in class the week of the marathon.)
At the conclusion of the concert, audience members and musicians not registered to participate in the marathon will need to exit the building to allow for the set-up and start of the marathon.
Remember that ALL personal items are the responsibility of the individual who brings them to the lock-in. Since we currently do not have lockers, personal items should be left at home!
Registrations can be found in the link below. Complete the registration form and return to Mrs. Wickman with payment in a sealed envelope marked Music Marathon. Individuals who register by Thursday, November 3 will be guaranteed a commemorative t-shirt. This evening is a great opportunity for the Stevenson musicians to bond and have fun making music together. Get registered so you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

Calling all night owls! We are in need of several parent volunteers to help with the upcoming Music Marathon on Friday, November 11. This is a great opportunity to get involved. Jobs include setup (receiving and organizing food donations from 5:45 to 6:45 pm in cafeteria), picking up and delivering dinner (approximately 9:45 pm), and chaperoning the event (9 pm until 5:00 am). There are several times available to sign up to perform solo or in a small ensemble (instrumental or vocal) throughout the night. Sign-up for a time in the auditorium.
5a Music Marathon concludes-ALL participants must be picked up!
The Music Boosters have worked hard to make this year's event the best so far. We have brought back the photo booth, bounce house, and added new activities.
Dinner is a part of the students’ registration fee.
Registered participants can visit the game room to play board games and card games. If you have extra decks of cards or board games such as Monopoly, Jenga, Life, etc., please sign up in the band room to bring them. Be sure to mark games clearly so they can be returned at the end of the event.
There will be TV’s available if you wish to play video games or watch a DVD, but you will have to bring in your gaming systems and (age appropriate) games or movies. You are also welcome to bring a karaoke machine or a dance game such as DDR. Individuals can sign up to bring gaming systems in the auditorium. THE LIVONIA STEVENSON MUSIC BOOSTERS/STEVENSON HIGH SCHOOL ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY LOSS OR DAMAGE TO ANY GAMES OR GAMING SYSTEMS.
The competition gym will be open to shoot hoops and race the inflatable obstacle course.
This evening is a great opportunity for all Stevenson musicians to bond and have fun making music together. If you haven’t registered consider joining in the fun!
The Stevenson High School Jazz Band auditions will be held in a rehearsal setting on Monday, November 14. To participate in auditions, individuals must complete and turn in the form in the link below by Friday, November 4 at 3p and attend an open rehearsal on Monday November 7 from 2:45-4p. Individuals who apply and attention the open rehearsal on Nov. 7 need to be in the auditorium ready to perform at 2:45p on Monday, November 14 for auditions. Rehearsals will be in the Stevenson auditorium from 2:45-4 p.m. on the dates listed in the document below (mainly Mondays). Check your calendar before committing to the jazz band, as it is extremely important you attend ALL rehearsals and performances.
