Leadership Auditions
Leaders in the Stevenson Marching Band are expected to lead through example and service. Auditions for Assistant Drum Major and Section Leaders take place in the Spring.
Assistant Drum Major 2027
Assistant Drum Major Auditions will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2027, at 3:30 p.m. in the Instrumental Music Room. Sophomores who have marched in the Marching Band for 2 years are eligible for Assistant Drum Major.
The Drum Major and Assistant Drum Major are expected to attend all Marching Band events, assist with field setup and clean-up at each rehearsal, and attend an external leadership camp in early July.
Section Leader 2027
Section Leader auditions for 2027 will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2027, at 3:30 p.m. in the Instrumental Music Room. Prerequisites include at least two years of experience in the Stevenson Marching Band and 2 years of participation in a performance class, or one year of experience in the Stevenson Marching Band and 3 years of participation in a performance class.
Each section of the Marching Band has a Section Leader: a student who can be relied upon to run sectionals and positively motivate their fellow members. Section Leaders are expected to attend all Marching Band events and assist with field setup and clean-up at each rehearsal.
