TECH WEEK DINNERS – WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
We are arranging for tech week dinners Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday around 5:00 PM in the South Cafeteria. Currently we do not have enough donations to feed the cast, crew, and pit orchestra. Please visit the sign-up genius HERE to help us provide meals for our hard working groups of students. Wednesday we are asking students to bring in $2 each to cover the cost of pizza. Please contact Jason Nesler by phone call, text, or email at 248-247-9032 or email@example.com with any questions.
The Mary Poppins cast and pit orchestra will present assemblies Wednesday, March 21 during hours 3, 5, and 6. Pit members will be school businessed for the assemblies. Pit orchestra dress for musical performances is all black. Orchestra call-time for the evening performances will be 6:15p Thursday and 6:30p Friday and Saturday. We hope friends and family will come out to support our musicians, actors, and behind the scenes crew in all the hard work they have dedicated to bringing this musical gem to life.
STRING FLING – Wednesday, March 28, 2018
The district-wide String Fling Concert will be held in the Stevenson High School gymnasium on Wednesday, March 28 at 7 p.m. Over 400 Livonia Public School string students grades 6-12 will perform in this concert. The combined high school string orchestra will have a rehearsal on March 28 in the Stevenson gymnasium from 4-5:45 p.m. Our guest conductor, Mr. Jed Fritzemeier, will rehearse the pieces to be performed by the mass high school orchestra for the String Fling concert. This is an outstanding opportunity for our students to work with a professional string specialist and will be the only time all 3 high schools will rehearse together before the concert. High school musicians need to be in the gym, in their seat, tuned, and ready to rehearse at 4 p.m.

WIND ENSEMBLE AUDITIONS 2018-19 – Dates TBA
Individuals who are interested in performing in the Wind Ensemble next year must audition for admittance. Wind Ensemble auditions will be held in band classes (in late March or mid-April). Students will sign up for an audition during their regular class time and must be present on the scheduled date. Adjudicators are brought in for these auditions and they are difficult if not impossible to fairly make up if a student is absent. Individuals will be expected to perform the prepared etude, a 2-octave major scale of their choice, a 2-octave melodic minor scale of their choice, a full range chromatic scale, and sight-read. All audition expectations can be found in the link below. I encourage Wind Ensemble members who would like to continue to perform in the ensemble and all Symphony Band students to audition. Auditions are open to all students who play a concert band instrument. You won’t know if you don’t try!
