STRING ORCHESTRA HALLOWEEN CONCERT
The Stevenson String Orchestra and the Holmes MS Orchestra will present their first concert of the year on Thursday, October 25 at 7p in the Stevenson Performing Arts Center. Orchestra members are encouraged to wear their best Halloween attire. Remember you must be able to play properly in your costume and no masks or hats that block your vision or others in the ensemble. We hope you will join us for a hauntingly great concert on October 25.
DRIVE 4 UR SCHOOL – October 18, 2018 @ Blackwell Ford
The Livonia Stevenson Music Boosters are having a test drive event at Blackwell Ford. For every test drive done as part of the Drive 4 UR School event on October 18, the Music Boosters will receive $20. We are in need volunteers throughout the day to help the Blackwell Ford staff keep track of the program participants. If you have some time to help, please visit the link below to sign-up. Busch's Cash for Education
If you were previously enrolled in Busch’s Cash for Education, you must update your preferences every quarter to be sure the Music Boosters receive credit for your purchases. Individuals can link Livonia Stevenson Music Boosters to your MY WAY card through the Busch’s website - www.buschs.com/community. If you linked you’re my Way account last year, be sure to check your account again this year as you must re-assign a donation organization for each quarter of the year.
SOLO & ENSEMBLE – Saturday, February 2, 2019 (Livonia Franklin HS)
District 12 MSBOA Solo & Ensemble will be held at LIVONIA FRANKLIN HIGH SCHOOL on Saturday, February 2, 2019. Please make note that Solo & Ensemble will again be held at Franklin and share the location with accompanists and private teachers. Be sure to plan ahead so you are able to prepare and follow through if you register to perform. Registration forms and payment MUST be turned in to Mrs. Wickman in a sealed envelope marked Solo & Ensemble by Wednesday, October 24, 2018. I encourage all students to consider participating in Solo and Ensemble. The Solo and Ensemble information pamphlet and registration form are now available on the music website.

SYMPHONY BAND: Note ID 1.0 (due 10/12 by 5p)
On Friday, October 19 we will recognize the senior members of the marching band and their parents. Individuals will be acknowledged as they walk the track with their parents before the game. If you are a senior marching band member, please complete the information the form in the link below to ensure you are included in this special event.
The Livonia Stevenson Music Boosters organization will continue to accept donations through October 1 to support the music program at Stevenson. Donations can be made by check or through the Booster page on the shsmusic.org website (link below). Individuals who cannot donate during the fall donation fundraiser may donate to the music program at any time throughout the year by writing a check directly to the Livonia Stevenson Music Boosters, which is a 501c3 non-profit organization.

Individuals in all band and orchestra classes need to enroll in their class through Google Classroom. Even if you were enrolled in a class last year, you must enroll in the 2018-19 class. Codes for each class can be found below.

MARCHING BAND HELP NEEDED (week of 10/1)
We are in need of 4-5 parent drivers to transport marching band leadership to Holmes for rehearsal Wednesday, October 3. If you are available from 9:45-11:30 a.m. Wednesday, please email Mrs. Wickman with the number of students you can transport. Be sure you have previously completed the district ICHAT required of all individuals who volunteer in the schools.
MARCHING BAND Practice 10/3/18
Since there are no lights on the practice field, we have moved the combined HMS/SHS practice up 30 minutes from the originally scheduled time. Practice on Wednesday, October 3 will run from 4:30-7:30p.
MSBOA MARCHING BAND FESTIVAL – Monday, October 8, 2018
The marching band will participate in MSBOA Marching Band Festival at John Glenn on Monday, October 8. Individuals need to arrive at Stevenson wearing complete uniform by 5:00p. Be sure to wear black socks, bring your gloves and your hat.
MSBOA MB FESTIVAL ITINERARY
Students must ride the bus to John Glenn, but may ride home with a parent. Students riding home with a parent must provide Mrs. Wickman with a note by 3 p.m. Monday, October 8 to verify they will not return to Stevenson on the bus. We hope friends and family will join us for our performance at John Glenn. There is a $6 gate charge for spectators.
