The Stevenson Winter Band and Orchestra Concert is Wednesday, December 13 at 7 p.m. in the Stevenson Performing Arts Center. Tickets will be $5 at the door. Band and Orchestra members should be sure to check the concert dress requirements listed in the handbook received at the beginning of the year (a digital copy can be found on the music website - HANDBOOK). Check your concert dress now so you have time to get anything you may need before the concert!
Below are times for members of each ensemble to report. All individuals must check in upon arrival. Ensembles will meet and warm-up in the band/orchestra room, or choir room. Be sure to leave valuables at home or locked in your instrument locker. Items left out are in jeopardy of being stolen. All band and orchestra students are expected to stay for the entire concert, assist with stage cleanup after the concert, and checkout after the stage is cleared. Individuals who do not assist with cleanup, leave early, or neglect to checkout will lose points from their concert grade.
Concert and Symphony Band – 6:30 p.m.
Jazz Band, Orchestra, and Wind Ensemble – 6:45 p.m.
The performance order for the concert is:
We are looking for a few parent volunteers for the night of the concert to help organize students to take the stage, help backstage with set-up needs, and student check-in and out before and after the concert. If you can help, please visit the Sign-Up Genius link below.
Following the winter concert on December 13, we will have an afterglow in the auditorium lobby. If you can provide cookies, brownies, (items that do not need to be cut), etc., please visit the Sign-Up Genius link below to donate items. Food donations can be dropped off in the lobby from 6-6:30p.
In rehearsal Monday, we will be working on It’s the Holiday Season and Leave it to Beavis. Be sure to work out your individual parts before rehearsal so we can have a productive rehearsal. Recordings for several of the pieces can be found online and/or downloaded from iTunes.

HOLIDAY GIFT IDEAS
The holidays are fast approaching and you may be looking for gift ideas for the musician in your family. Click the link below for some suggestions. If you need guidance, please contact me and I will help in any way I can.
Remember, if you are planning to purchase a new instrument and do not have the guidance of a private teacher; please e-mail me for brand/model suggestions. There are a lot of poorly made instruments that look shiny and pretty but end up being a waste of money! The instrument brands listed in the link are reputable instrument manufacturers.
